1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions describe use of the Windbreaker app, website, and related support services offered under the Windbreaker name (“Windbreaker,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the services, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, do not use the services.

Windbreaker is a golf wind and planning utility. It does not require a Windbreaker account. You are responsible for using it lawfully, with the necessary permission from a parent or guardian if applicable, and for complying with course and competition rules.

2. App license and Apple’s terms

The license to the iOS app is governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), unless a different EULA is explicitly supplied with the app in the App Store. These website and service terms supplement that license; they do not replace it or remove rights under it. Apple’s terms govern your Apple Account, App Store purchases, and use of Apple services.

Windbreaker, rather than Apple, provides the app’s own support and service content, subject to Apple’s EULA allocation of responsibilities and applicable law. Nothing here creates an obligation for Apple to provide maintenance or support for Windbreaker.

3. Free features and Pro

The free experience includes the wind compass and wind readings, Rounded distance adjustments, course search and satellite maps, creating and editing My Bag, and the free weather timeline. The free timeline covers up to 24 hours of forecast and 8 hours of history where returned weather data permits.

Windbreaker Pro unlocks Exact distance adjustments, saved Club input for Compass adjustments, favorite courses, and an expanded timeline of up to 7 days ahead and 24 hours back where data is available. The offer shown in the app describes the features included at the time of purchase. You manually choose clubs; the app does not promise automatic club recommendations.

An active subscription is needed for Pro functionality. The app can store clubs without a subscription. Pro-only favorite records can remain stored after Pro access ends and reappear if access is restored; cancellation does not automatically delete those records. Availability can depend on device compatibility, permissions, network access, and third-party services.

4. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

• Plans and pricing. Pro is offered through monthly or annual auto-renewing subscriptions. The purchase screen shows the plan, billing period, localized price, and any applicable offer before confirmation. This website does not set or promise a particular price.
• Payment and renewal. Apple charges your Apple Account’s payment method when a purchase is confirmed. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends; renewal charges may occur within the 24 hours before renewal. Apple’s purchase confirmation and terms control the transaction.
• Introductory offers. A free trial or discounted period is available only when displayed and you are eligible under Apple’s rules. No trial is guaranteed. An offer converts to the disclosed paid subscription unless canceled in time. To avoid a trial renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Unused trial time may be forfeited when buying a subscription where Apple’s offer terms provide.
• Manage or cancel. Use Windbreaker Settings → Manage Subscription when available, or iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Windbreaker. Canceling stops future renewals; paid access normally continues through the paid period shown by Apple. Trial access may end when canceled. Uninstalling Windbreaker does not cancel a subscription.
• Restore. Use Windbreaker Settings → Restore Purchases with the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Network access and a valid purchase are needed. Restoration is subject to the store record and the active subscription’s terms.
• Refunds. Apple handles App Store refunds under its policies and applicable consumer law. You can submit a request through Apple. We cannot guarantee Apple’s approval or issue an App Store refund ourselves.
• Changes. Apple handles applicable price-change notices and consent requirements. Updated pricing is disclosed before a new purchase, and required notices apply to existing subscribers.

See Apple’s cancellation instructions and Apple’s refund instructions. Windbreaker uses RevenueCat for subscription validation, paywall presentation, access, and restoration; it is not the payment-card processor for an App Store purchase.

5. Understanding the estimates

Windbreaker provides estimates, not measured ball-flight or guaranteed results. It combines Apple Weather wind with your phone’s heading and an entered distance. It does not measure wind at your ball, record your swing, or measure your launch speed, launch angle, spin, elevation, or shot shape.

Adjusted Carry estimates the wind-affected flight of a shot with the calm-air carry you entered. Adjusted Target gives an approximate calm-air carry adjustment for an entered target distance. It is a fast approximation, not a precise inverse solution or a personalized club recommendation.

When gust information is available, the large headline uses a scenario at the midpoint of the steady-wind and gust speeds. The smaller numbers show steady and gust scenarios separately. The midpoint is not a statistical expected result, safety margin, or promise that the ball will travel that distance.

The flight model infers typical launch characteristics from carry distance. Selecting a saved club supplies its carry distance; it does not measure that club’s actual launch profile. Setup-generated bag distances are labeled estimates and should be checked and replaced with your measured carries.

Weather can be delayed, unavailable, or different from conditions near trees, buildings, hills, and your shot. The map repeats one wind vector for the selected location across its arrows; it is not a measurement at each point. Forecasts and historical weather are supplied data, not a recording of the gusts you personally experienced.

Compass readings can be affected by magnetic accessories, carts, metal, calibration, and sensor availability. Previously displayed data can remain visible during reconnection. Use your judgment and check current conditions; numerical precision on screen does not establish physical accuracy.

6. Safe use and competition rules

Use Windbreaker only when it is safe to check your phone. Remain aware of other players, balls, terrain, vehicles, and severe weather. The app is not an emergency warning service, navigation safety tool, or substitute for official weather alerts and course instructions.

Do not assume all features are permitted in competition. Rules may distinguish available weather information from interpreting playing information to guide a shot. Check with the competition committee before using adjusted-distance guidance. Windbreaker does not certify your use as competition-legal. See R&A Rule 4.3.

7. Your data and responsibilities

Enter carry distances that reflect your game and keep them up to date. You retain your rights in club nicknames, carry distances, and other information you enter. You permit processing of that information only as needed to provide the requested storage, syncing, and calculations as described in the Privacy Policy.

Bag and favorite records can be stored locally and mirrored through private iCloud storage when available. Sync, backup, and recovery are subject to Apple’s services and device settings; we cannot guarantee uninterrupted syncing or recovery of every deleted record. Do not treat Windbreaker as your only record of important measured carry distances.

Do not misuse the app or website, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with services, circumvent paid access, or use them in a way that infringes another person’s rights. Restrictions on copying or reverse engineering remain subject to rights and exceptions granted by applicable law and the app’s EULA.

8. Content and third-party services

Windbreaker’s app, website, branding, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Your permission to use the service does not transfer ownership of that content. Apple, RevenueCat, Vercel, and other third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners.

Weather, maps, satellite imagery, search results, billing, and iCloud functionality rely on third-party services. Their availability, data, and terms can change. Links to provider documentation are for convenience and do not imply that Windbreaker controls those services. Wind data attribution is available through Apple Weather’s data-source page.

9. Availability and changes

We may update Windbreaker to fix issues, improve functionality, comply with law, or adapt to platform changes. Features and service access can change. We will provide notice where required for material changes affecting a paid service, and any rights concerning paid periods or refunds remain protected by applicable law and Apple’s purchase terms.

We may restrict service access where necessary to prevent abuse or comply with law. These terms do not authorize us to disregard paid subscription rights. Cancel an unwanted renewal through Apple’s subscription settings; deleting the app or stopping use alone does not cancel it.

10. Warranties and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law and consistent with Apple’s EULA, the services and estimates are provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation, data availability, a particular golfing result, or fitness for a specific use. We are not responsible for results caused by inaccurate inputs, local conditions, or reliance on estimated shot guidance beyond what the law requires.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits non-excludable consumer rights, statutory warranties, liability for fraud, or other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Where Apple’s EULA supplies a warranty remedy or liability rule for the licensed app, that rule continues to apply. These terms do not impose a separate arbitration requirement or waive mandatory consumer protections.

11. Changes, disputes, and contact

The date above identifies the current version. Material updates will receive notice where required, and continued use after an effective update is subject to the revised terms to the extent allowed by law. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply where permitted.

Your mandatory local consumer protections and rights to use competent courts remain unaffected.
